They are typically good with other pets especially when they are socialized at a young age. Despite their size, Zuchons make fairly good watch dogs and will bark to alert their owner(s) if someone is approaching the home or nearby. Teddy Bears are known for their devotion to their owner(s) but they need love and attention in return: this is not a breed that will get along well if left alone for long periods of time. They are very social which also makes them very endearing and lovable. They are easy to train and fast learners. The dogs can at times be stubborn, but if you train them well this breed makes a great family pet. The Zuchon is a toy breed and aside from the fact that the puppies and dogs are absolutely adorable, they are known for their playful, spirited and well-mannered demeanor. Although they have the ability to pick up on commands easily, they can be a little stubborn, which can be difficult for novice dog owners to handle. Commonly referred to as hypoallergenic dogs, Zuchons are a top choice of breed for owners with allergy problems although allergic reactions may still occur. Clubs recognizing the differences between Shih Tzus and Apsos were not established until 19, but a standard defining the Shih Tzu’s unique characteristics wasn’t established until 1938. They began to appear in other countries and North America in the early 1900s. Somehow seven males and seven females were saved, and all of today’s Shih Tzus are descended from those 14 dogs. Shih Tzus became popular with commoners in China during the Ming dynasty, but they almost disappeared during the Chinese Revolution. Although we don’t know its exact ancestors, experts believe they are a cross between Tibet’s Lhasa Apso breed and a small Chinese dog like a Pekingese. The Shih Tzu breed is one of the oldest known and was favored by Chinese royals and kept at court as far back as the Tang dynasty, 618 to 907. France discovered the breed in the 1500s, and they were also treasured there. In the 1300s the breed became very popular with Italian nobility. They were often traded, and that’s how they made their way around the world. The Bichon Frise was created in the Mediterranean centuries ago. Their history isn’t long, but the parent breeds are well-documented. They were first bred in the 1990s in the United States with the goal of creating a dog that looked like a teddy bear and would make a sweet companion to children and adults alike.
